Japan Underground Press Release

New event Japan Underground have sent Animetion a press release for their upcoming club night on Wednesday 17th November 2010. 

The event will run from 7pm - 2pm at The King Pin Suite, Bloomsbury, London and will be loosely based around the Capcom franchise Sengoku Basara, screening the anime at the venue's cinema as well as offering attendees a chance to play the video game.  Japanese music will be played throughout the night, varying from J-Pop, J-Rock, gaming, anime, etc.  A number of karaoke machines will also be available for those who like to sing as well as dance. 

And that's not all.  Cosplay Portrait will be providing Purikura style photos and professional cosplay photography shoots.  There will also be live performances from HITT and 10 will also be at Japan Underground. 

Tickets are only £5 if you buy in advance, or £6 on the door.  Considering how much is on offer at this event, it is a pretty cheap night!

Latest Euro Cosplay Announcements!


Following on from our recent feature on the upcoming Euro Cosplay Championships, organiser James 'Ilpala' Funnell has contacted Animetion with the latest announcements.  Read below for information on the judges and activities at the event, which will be held at MCM London Expo on 30th October 2010. 

"Not content with just hosting the very first European Cosplay Championship the new Totally Cosplay @ Expo area is going to have lots of other fun things for Cosplayers to do.

Special cosplay guests from around the world are being flown in and they are all keen to meet UK cosplayers.

Famous American cosplayers Jia Jem and Ginny Mcqueen will be joining us.  Jia is well known for the amazing range of costumes she has turned her hand to and Ginny, who has been cosplaying for 12 years now has done everything from Modelling to TV work.

Yuki, one of Brazils best known cosplayers will also be here.  Yuki has represented Brazil in the World Cosplay Summit and regularly performs at Video Games Live events over the pond: yukicosplay.com

And finally Goldy, Japans own master of Gundam and mecha costumes will be in attendance.
