For fans of Naruto, London is the only place to be this weekend! Manga Entertainment are launching Naruto The Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow with a two day cinema run in the Apollo West End cinema near Piccadilly Circus on the 24th and 25th November. However, there's more to enjoy than just the film itself, with prize giveaways, cosplay competitions and game demos also planned! Tickets are available from Orbital Manga in Upper St Martin's Lane near Covent Garden and from the cinema itself. Two weeks later Scottish fans will get the same treatment when the film rolls in for a special free screening at the Glasgow Film Theatre on the 2nd of December. Tickets for that event are allocated on a first come, first serve basis, so get there early to avoid disappointment. For more info and to read the full press release, click here. Source: Manga

We at Animetion are massive fans of The Mysterious Cities of Gold and the news that the French/Japanese classic was to be released on DVD gave us spasms of sheer joy. Now more details have been released, and it makes for interesting reading. Fabulous Films have confirmed that they are still restoring the masters, audio and documentaries and are compiling a list of extras based on fan's suggestions. The documentaries followed the end of the episodes in some areas, and explained historical and sociological themes used in the series. Considering that (to our knowledge) they were only screened on UK TV during one of the series' runs, it's great to hear that they will be reinstated. However, the main announcement Fabulous Films have made is that they look to have secured interviews with producer Jean Chalopin, director Bernard Deyries, composer Shuki Levy and the four lead voice actors, Shiraz Adam (Esteban), Janice Chaikelson Steinberg (Zia), Adrian Knight (Tao) and Howard Rhyspan (Mendoza). Best of all they have given fans the opportunity to pose them questions, under the proviso that they're kept brief and you don't ask to many. Questions are being taken until the end of the month and can be submitted by email to mcog@fabulousfilms.co.uk, please remember to indicate who the question is for! Although it isn't confirmed that all of the interviews will happen, there is the possibility of further interviewees being secured - more news on this as we get it. There have been no comments on whether the Japanese production staff will be approached as yet, but we still hold out hope that clips of the Japanese version may be included in some form. The only disadvantage of all this is that the first DVD won't be out until March at the earliest now. We are putting the money aside already... Source: Fabulous

A decent selection out on Monday, including the continuation of the excellent Paniponi Dash and Le Chevalier D'Eon. ADV are releasing the first three volumes as a set through Play.Com, so there's never been a better chance to check out Production IG's (yes, the people who did Ghost in the Shell) inexplicably overlooked supernatural epic. Only a handful out tomorrow, although we have conflicting information about the release of .hack://ROOTS vol 5 so we recommend checking with your local stockist to see if it's out. .hack://ROOTS vol 5 (Beez) Source: Various |
Hell Girl to Get UK Release Revelation have listed a February 2008 release for the recent mystery horror series Hell Girl! The series revolves around a mysterious website that appears at midnight to allow you to post your grudges and bring supernatural revenge on your enemies through the titular demon. It certainly sounds interesting, and could prove to be another strong title to add to Revelations' ever-expanding catalogue. Source: Revelation

If you're looking out for tickets for the limited cinema run of Naruto The Movie, Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow (don't you just love pointlessly long anime titles?) check out Orbital Manga in London! They will be selling tickets for the screenings on 24th and 25th November in their shop on Upper St Martins Lane near Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden. Orbital Manga has caused us to part with much cash in the past due to it's massive selection of manga, artbooks and figures, so if you want tickets for the film it makes for a better place to buy them than the cinema itself...
