Solid State Society on Play!

Yep, the highly anticipated new Ghost in the Shell film, Solid State Society is now available to buy on Play.Com!  Pencilled in for release on 7th July 07, the film is a feature length follow up to the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG anime series.  Technically it hasn't been officially confirmed for UK release before now, but it was a near certainty following the success of the series.  We're really looking forward to seeing it!

More New MVM Licenses!!

MVM took people a bit by surprise when Speed Grapher appeared on their schedule, and now a couple more new titles have been listed by their PR company.  First up is Elemental Gelade, a fantasy actioner about sky pirates and sentient weapons, which is due for release on 7th May.  The DVD is listed as coming with a book, presumably volume 1 of the manga of the same name which is a recent release from Tokyopop.  Next is Basilisk, another fantasy actioner set in Japan's feudal past and focusing on rival ninja clans with supernatural powers.  Basilisk vol 1 is set for release on 4th June, and is based on the manga series of the same name which is receiving a UK release from Tanoshimi.

Also scheduled are box set releases for Love Hina (7th May) and Trigun (4th Jun), so it looks like MVM have a strong lineup for Quarter 2!

Potential Fullmetal Alchemist Releases?

Further scouring of Play.Com has turned up a couple more potential releases!  Alongside those mentioned below are listings for a Fullmetal Alchemist Season 1 Box Set and the Fullmetal Alchemist film Conqueror of Shamballa, in normal and special edition versions.  No other details are forthcoming at present, and once again there is no release date.  More info as we get it.

Potential Revelation Releases?

UK Anime News have spotted a few potential new Revelation releases listed on Play.Com.  Fantasy series Mushishi, high school drama Peach Girl, high school romance Suzuka and CLAMPs parallel world fantasy Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle lead the way, alongside box set releases for romantic comedies Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki and Tenchi Muyo! GXP.  None of them have a release date as yet, and this does put their release in a little doubt - Play.Com has listed horror anime Devil Lady for about three years and there is still no release forthcoming - but we would expect to see several of these this year.  Interestingly, Play.Com also lists 'starter sets' for Tsubasa, Mushishi and Suzuka, there are no details on what these could be, but we'd expect budget taster DVDs.  Interesting times ahead...

Nearly Back!

Those who have been keeping an eye on this site may have noticed a distinct lack of updating recently.  We have been moving house and have therefore only been able to get online occasionally as we haven't had internet in our new place.  However, delivery of a modem and wireless router is all that stands between us and normality, so keep an eye open for some new content soon!
