Please note that
the following review was written as part of a feature on drunken reviews.
Original spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors have been kept. The
aim of this to review was to determine how enjoyable the anime is to watch
whilst drunk, not whilst sober! Here we go:
Well to end the night we have this 90’s ‘gem’ to enjoy, and it is better than
the awful violence Jack, but only just.
A kid finds an alien devic e that turns him into the Guyver (a kind of adult,
bio-mechanicAL Power Ranger) and allows him to fight crap monsters. And that’s
about it. Ther;es some guff about evil syndicates and alien symbiotes, but
really it’s like an adult version of Power Rangers. There is a plot and some
interesting bits biut it’s all been done better since, and the characters are
rubbish too.
In fact the most enjoyment I had from this was watching the retro trailers
before the start of the film, especiallyt the classic Manga promo trailer done
to the Celtic Frost song The Heart Beneath. It’s worth it just for this, but on
this episodes evidence there series itself is very rubbish.
